Ukestra will be playing for Street Music Week to raise funds for 2nd Harvest Food Bank, this Wednesday, June 10 from noon to 1pm. We’ll be on the southwest corner across from Riverfront Park’s main entrance on Howard St. and Spokane Falls Blvd. Please arrive by 11:45 to set up. We need a count of how many badges to get when Steve goes to register and gets our official bucket. We’ll also get parking passes for anyone who’s parked in Riverpark Square garage. The weather forecast for Wednesday is a high of 66 and 55% chance of rain. We’ll be under an overhang on a street corner, for the most part. Please wear a Hawaiian shirt or similar colorful clothing, if possible when dressing for the weather.
You’ll need your ukulele, tuner, music stand, music from the list sent out earlier, clips for blowing pages, folding chair if you want one, water bottle, etc. No electricity is available unless you bring your own power station. Steve is bringing one for a microphone and amplification for his uke.
Street Music Week is open to performers of every discipline – solo musicians, bands, dancers, artists – at every level of ability. “It’s not about virtuosity; it’s about generosity,” is the official motto of Street Music Week. –from the Street Music website: https://www.streetmusicweek.com
